Appointment of an Independent Panel of Researchers to enhance research and inform work for the Government Medical Scheme (GEMS), as a once-off requirement for a period of three years

GEMS seeks to appoint an Independent Research Advisory Panel to enhance the capacity of GEMS to carry out, manage, share, and apply research, and support linkages between research, policy, and practice. The major panel contributions include:

  • Identifying and providing inputs to research conducted by GEMS.
  • Work with GEMS to publish research in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Assess the quality of components of output completed at various research stages.
  • Provide skills transfer and guidance to research staff.
  • Provide advisory input according to areas of expertise.

 

Experts must possess at least 5 years of professional experience in their area of specialisation, which may include some of the following:\

 

  • Public Health
  • Healthcare Financing
  • Health Policy
  • Research Ethics
  • Bioethics and Health Law
  • Scientific Writing and Editing
  • Statistics/Biostatistics
  • Clinical trials Research
  • Epidemiology
  • Experience in Grant Applications
  • Health Economics
  • Qualitative and Quantitative
  • Actuarial Sciences
  • Research Methodologies
  • Health Systems
  • Healthcare Financing

  • Detailed CVs of the resources noting similar experience;
  • Proof of registration of official body; and
  • Portfolio of evidence, including publications;

Appointment Of A Service Provider To Provide Procurement Consultant Services For The Government Employees Medical Scheme For A Period Of One (1) Year Commencing 1 September 2024  Which Contract May Be Annually Renewable For A Maximum Of Two (2) More Years.

Pre-qualification criteria:

GEMS will only consider bids from service providers who have at least a proven 51% Black Ownership in terms of B-BBEE.

Compulsory Briefing Session:

Time:10h00 to 11h30

Attendees joining the session more than 15 minutes after the starting time noted, i.e., after 10h15 will be deemed not to have attended the briefing session.

Prospective service providers are required to notify the relevant person at the respective email address indicated below for this requirement, before 10h00 on 12 February 2024 on whether they will attend the briefing session. Bidders will be provided with a link to connect and join the session on confirmation of attendance. Attendees must have their own copies of the bid document in the briefing session.

Closing Date: 05 March 2024  Time: 11h00

The time stipulated is in accordance with Telkom time, available by dialling 1026. Further submission details are contained in the bid document. Submission will be strictly electronic to the relevant email address. No late submissions will be considered.
